Maharani Sthan

Maharani Sthan is a Hindu temple located in the village of Basuki Bihari North, in the Madhubani district of Bihar, India. It’s a very old temple and is believed to have been initially built by the Chaudhary family residing in this village. The temple was rebuilt some years ago. It is dedicated to Goddess Bhagwati.

The exact date of foundation of the temple is unknown, but it’s one of the oldest temples in this area. The temple has both religious and historical significance in the region.

Basuki Bihari is a large village in the Madhubani district of Mithila region in Bihar, India. The village is divided into two Gram Panchayats: Basuki Bihari North and Basuki Bihari South. The village is known for its social and cultural activities, including the celebration of Durga Puja.

"Durga Puja Samiti, Bihari" is a social and cultural organization that organizes the Durga Puja festival in the village. It was established in 1987 by the villagers. The Durga Puja celebration at Basuki Bihari North is quite popular and you can find videos of it on platforms like YouTube.

In the campus of the Maharani Sthan , there is also a temple of the King Salhesh within the Maithil Hindu tradition. King Salhesh was  a king of Mithila during the mediaeval period and his capital was in the Sirha district of present Nepal.
